Yale introduces the fluxonium superconducting circuit

Jun 4, 2009

Vladimir Manucharyan and colleagues demonstrate fluxonium, a superconducting artificial atom whose circuit connects a small Josephson junction to an array of larger junctions. The design removes sensitivity to drifting offset charges.

Why it matters

Fluxonium adds a route to superconducting quantum hardware that addresses a source of electrical noise while retaining distinct energy levels.
