A reprogrammable photonic chip performs different quantum experiments

May 5, 2015

A Bristol-led team demonstrates a reprogrammable photonic chip for quantum logic, entangling gates and boson sampling. The same optical circuit can switch between different experiments instead of requiring a separate device for each.

Why it matters

Reconfigurable optical circuits provide a flexible experimental platform for developing photonic quantum computing.
