Yale controls a logical qubit stored in a superconducting cavity
Aug 8, 2016
Yale researchers demonstrate a set of operations on a logical qubit encoded in a superconducting cavity using cat states. Numerical pulse design lets them manipulate the encoded information, with inferred gate fidelity near 99%.
Why it matters
A useful encoded qubit must support computation as well as storage; this demonstrates control of information spread across oscillator states.
