Amazon announces Braket, a cloud service for several makers' quantum computers
Dec 2, 2019
Amazon Web Services announces a preview of Amazon Braket, a cloud service for building quantum programs and running them on hardware from D-Wave, IonQ and Rigetti. It also announces an AWS Center for Quantum Computing next to Caltech.
Why it matters
Rather than build its own quantum computer first, AWS chose to offer several makers' machines through one cloud service, putting quantum hardware within reach of its cloud customers.
