Neutral-atom arrays perform entangling gates in parallel
Aug 16, 2019
Harvard and MIT researchers demonstrate two- and three-qubit gates in arrays of neutral atoms held by laser tweezers. Exciting atoms to interacting Rydberg states enables operations on several groups of atoms in parallel.
Why it matters
Parallel gates move neutral-atom arrays from specialized simulators toward programmable quantum circuits.
