Neutral-atom entangling gates reach 99.5% fidelity in parallel
Apr 11, 2023
Harvard and MIT researchers report two-qubit entangling gates with 99.5% fidelity, operating on up to 60 neutral atoms in parallel. Improved laser pulses and atom control reduce errors in the interactions used to connect qubits.
Why it matters
High gate fidelity across many atoms helps make neutral-atom arrays suitable for error-corrected circuits.
