UK opens the National Quantum Computing Centre at Harwell

The UK opens the National Quantum Computing Centre's facility at Harwell. Designed to house 12 quantum computers, it supports work across different hardware platforms; the opening does not mean all 12 machines are already operating.
Why it matters
A dedicated national facility gives researchers and industry a shared base for developing, comparing and using quantum computing technologies.
