Helix tests beat physical-qubit baselines without discarding runs

Sep 2, 2026

Researchers using Quantinuum's Helios report error-corrected memory, Clifford operations on two logical qubits and an interface to a different code. Each test beats its corresponding unencoded physical baseline without postselection, or discarding unfavorable runs.

Why it matters

Extending error-correction gains from memory to operations and connections between codes tests more of the components needed for a fault-tolerant computer.
