A protocol lets clients hide quantum computations from a remote server

May 2, 2008

Anne Broadbent presents work with Joseph Fitzsimons and Elham Kashefi that lets a server run quantum computations while keeping the client’s data and instructions private. The client prepares and sends individual qubits, then exchanges ordinary messages.

Why it matters

Blind computing offers a way to use a remote quantum computer without revealing the problem or its answer to the provider.
