QuTech links three quantum nodes in an entanglement-based network
Feb 8, 2021
Researchers at QuTech in Delft report a network of three remote nodes built on diamond qubits. They share entanglement among all three and swap entanglement through a middle node, without discarding failed runs afterward. The work appeared in Science in April 2021.
Why it matters
Networks of linked quantum processors are one route to larger machines and to a future quantum internet; going beyond two nodes was a necessary step.
